NORTH PATCHOGUE, NY — Arson Squad detectives are investigating a blaze that ripped into a North Patchogue home on New Year's night, Suffolk police said.
Multiple residents called into the county's 911 system just after 11 p.m. to report that a garage attached to a house on Jones Street was on fire, according to police.
Everyone inside escaped to safety with no injuries, police said.
The fire drew firefighters from eight different departments, and five emergency medical service companies responded to the scene, News 12 reported.
It was not the only incident that drew area firefighters on New Year's.
Firefighters were called to a home on Bailey Avenue in Patchogue after smoke was seen coming from the top of the house at around 9:40 p.m., police said.
