Echoes of Silence: Meditation in Monochrome

Bayside, NY — The Garage Art Center is proud to present Echoes of Silence: Meditation in Monochrome, a solo exhibition by New York–based artist Ami Park, on view from August 2 to August 31, 2025. This exhibition marks Park’s first solo presentation in Queens, bringing her work to the borough for the very first time. Known for her multidisciplinary practice that blends sculpture, fashion, and textile, Park explores themes of identity, memory, and quiet transformation through tactile, process-driven forms.

Echoes of Silence features a focused selection of Park’s monochromatic and color-based works, reflecting her meditative process and evolving material language. Revisiting early inspirations while introducing new forms, the exhibition invites viewers into a visual dialogue between tension and release—offering space for stillness and reflection amid the clamor of contemporary life.

Park’s soft sculptural works and fabric-based objects evoke emotional texture and spatial presence. Whether suspended, draped, or layered, her pieces suggest quiet movement and internal shifts, engaging the viewer in a process of intimate looking.

Rooted in a deep fascination with the universe and how all things connect, Park’s recent works explore the invisible energies that govern both the natural world and human consciousness. Her practice bridges science and spirituality—investigating both the measurable and the immeasurable—as she visualizes the vibrations of objects and waveforms through the use of yarn and thread. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, with yarn placed one strand at a time to reflect the natural movement of energy. In Park’s hands, these materials become more than medium—they represent connection itself: the unseen threads that link the physical and spiritual, the personal and universal.
