HOLTSVILLE, NY — A hit-and-run on Long Island left a man injured and public property damaged early Friday morning, Suffolk County police told Patch.
Police said they responded to a 911 report of a white Chevrolet pickup truck that struck and damaged a commercial fence at 161 Long Island Ave. in Holtsville around 1:28 a.m. on Friday.
A resident of the area was also struck and injured and told police he would follow up with personal doctor, police told Patch.
In addition, the truck also struck and damaged a “No Stopping” sign located in front of 9 Woodland Ave. before fleeing the scene northbound on Woodland Avenue, police said.
Police said the Town of Brookhaven was notified for repair of damaged street sign.
