NEW YORK — Summer is here, and New York residents are flocking to beaches across the state to revel in the sheer beauty of the season.
While every New York resident likely has a beach they frequent more often than others, a few have risen to the top of travelers’ lists, according to TripAdvisor ratings.
The state’s three most beloved beaches are all located on Long Island.
Coming in at No. 1 is Coopers Beach in Southampton.
Coopers Beach “is a beautiful 500-foot stretch of sand that’s perfect for a relaxing day out. You’ll be treated to an amazing view of the historic mansions in the distance, plus whales and dolphins playing in the ocean if you’re lucky,” TripAdvisor said.
Coopers Beach was also ranked the #1 Beach in America for 2025 Dr. Beach, who has consistently given the beach top honors for years.
Next, at #2 for New York, according to TripAdvisor, is Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh.
“This park offers visitors seven miles of beach, two swimming pools, a boardwalk and games,” TripAdvisor said. Plus, who hasn’t felt the magic of a summer evening concert at Jones Beach, spent singing under a starry sky?
Finally, coming in at #3 for New York was Long Beach. “Weekend at the beach,” one reviewer said. “It was about an hour drive from the Lower East Side in Manhattan.”
The list also contains other beloved Long Island beaches. To see how your favorite ranked, check out TripAdvisor’s list of best beaches in New York.
